Manually actuated Slide Plate Screen Changers for discontinuous operation

The new KREYENBORG slide plate screen changers are applied in processes in which a discontinuous resp. a not pressure constant filtration is sufficient.

With a slide plate screen changer one or two screen cavities are arranged on a swivel or slide plate, which is located between an inlet and an outlet flange.

A movement of this plate effects that the screen cavity is taken out of the process for screen change. At the same time the material flow is either locked or a second screen cavity performs the filtration task.

Applications

• for processing virgin material
• for processes with low pollution
  (e.g. blown film extrusion, profile extrusion)
• as protection filter with rough filter fineness
  (e.g. pump protection filtration)

Materials

• suitable for almost all polymers

Function

• discontinuously working melt filters
  (For the screen change the line has to be switched of for a short time (2-4 min.))
• for the screen change the captive washer is operated by hand ratchet by means of a gear wheel drive. Thereby the screen cavity is swivelled out of the machine, in order to change the filter media
• during the screen change the captive washer locks the flow channel

The output rates depend on the individual process parameters. Subject to design modifications.
