For the economic operation of complex lines often a melt valve becomes necessary, which regulates the melt flow in a controlled manner or which rather discharges the material out of the running process.
Possible fields of applications are for example:
Shut-off valve

3/3- way valve (free of dead space)
Depending on position, the piston valve releases different in- and outputs for the melt. The example shows that the melt optionally may be guided into one of the two or into both outlet channels. Switching between the two output channels is done without pressure variation and without trapped air. Area of application:

Depending on position of the valve piston, another flow direction for the melt flow is caused. Area of application:

FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLEThe basic functionality of the KREYENBORG melt valves is as resourceful as simple: The melt flow is guided through a steel ingot in which a hydraulically moveable valve piston is arranged. Different flow channels are embedded in this valve piston. By the hydraulic sliding of the valve piston the melt flow is guided into the necessary melt channel. This causes the diverting and the shutting off of the melt flow resp. Owing to the quick switching of the hydraulically operated valve piston in any case the complete throughput capacity is immediately available and is immediately completely shut-off resp..
